Old Trapper Scores with Fans at the Boise State vs. UNLV Game: A Legendary Experience
The prelude to a big game at Albertsons Stadium is always electric—the cheering, the sea of orange and blue, and the anticipation of the final score. Old Trapper, a brand that truly understands the heart of the sports fan, seized this opportunity to go beyond standard sponsorship. They wanted to give football fans a tangible way to demonstrate their commitment to the team while creating a lasting memory.
Right before the Boise State vs. UNLV showdown, Boothtube stood alongside Old Trapper to bring a fan-favorite activation to Boise: Custom Trading Cards. The concept was an instant touchdown. Fans were so amazed by the opportunity to star in their own official-looking sports card that lines formed hours before kickoff. Despite the crowds, the excitement was palpable.
It was the perfect way to build hype before the Broncos secured their amazing victory, ensuring every fan left the stadium proud of their team and holding a piece of the action.
Creating Legends: How Fans Got Their Custom Trading Cards
Trading cards have always been a valuable asset for sports fans and a powerful, nostalgic marketing tool for brands. By bringing this experience to the stadium, we drove massive engagement and emotional connection between the fans and the Old Trapper brand.
We designed a workflow that was fast, simple, and high-tech, ensuring that even with high volume, every attendee could become a “player” in seconds. Here is how we made the magic happen:
-
Step 1: Scan and Register via QR Code
To keep the line moving efficiently, we displayed large QR codes around the booth perimeter. Passersby and those in line could simply scan the code with their phones and fill out a quick form with their name, position, and contact information while they waited, streamlining the data capture process.
-
Step 2: Sync and Capture
Once the registration was complete, the fan’s phone displayed a unique personal QR code. When they reached the front of the line, our booth attendant scanned this code directly into the Photo Booth camera. This instantly synced their data to the system, activating the countdown for them to strike their best “game face” pose.
-
Step 3: Instant Printing and Digital Sharing
The image was instantly sent to the fan’s email or phone number for immediate social media sharing. Simultaneously, a high-quality physical card was printed on-site. After a quick lamination process to give it that authentic look and feel, voila! Fans walked away with both a digital and physical version of their Trading Card, ready to show off to friends and keep as a permanent souvenir of a victorious day.
