We Leveled Up the Red Bull Tetris 2025 With Our Enclosed Photo Booth

Tetris is the “OG” video game par excellence; almost every self-proclaimed gamer has played it at least once. To celebrate the game’s monumental 40th anniversary, Red Bull launched a one-of-a-kind global event: The Red Bull Tetris Competition.

The mission is to find the best Tetris players worldwide, challenging them to score high on a custom version of the game, with the top national qualifiers heading to the World Finals in Dubai this December.

To energize players and build hype across the US, Red Bull hosted multiple gatherings where fans of all ages could demonstrate their block-stacking skills. For the event in Portland, Oregon, Red Bull wanted to double down on the nostalgia. They partnered with Boothtube to build an iconic experience for retro gaming fans that perfectly matched the vibe: a custom Enclosed Photo Booth.

From Retro Gaming to Retro Photography: The Enclosed Booth Experience

While the industry has evolved into smart, open-air, and compact kiosks, we still love the classic feeling of traditional, vintage photo booths. Red Bull saw the perfect opportunity to transform their Portland event into a complete 90s retro experience.

We designed a fully branded Enclosed Photo Booth that allowed guests to step inside, close the curtains, and take pictures in privacy, simulating the authentic arcade photo booth experience of the past.

It was a true success for Red Bull Tetris, demonstrating that vintage experiences are still a massive draw for both young and old crowds.

In just a few minutes, guests received a top-quality, physical photo strip containing all their pictures. This tangible keepsake is the ultimate souvenir, perfectly mirroring the nostalgia of the classic arcade era.

  • Modern Social Sharing with GIFs

The booth automatically generated a fun, animated GIF combining the guest’s photos into a video. This was instantly shareable, allowing attendees to post their content online immediately.
